It’s always draft season here at North Side Bound and we finally have an answer to where the Cubs will be picking in the first round.

As expected, the Chicago Cubs didn’t win the lottery and they even moved back one selection. They will be selecting 13th this upcoming July.

As a reminder, this is the first year that the MLB draft lottery took place. The Cubs had a 23.7% of selecting 13th courtesy of our friends at Tankathon.com

Last year no one would have expected Dylan Lesko to be there for the Padres at pick 16. Could we see elite talents like Dylan Crews, Chase Dollander, Jacob Gonzales, or Max Clark become the Chicago Cubs first round pick? Time will tell, but look out for more to come as Todd and Greg Zumach break down their favorite players in the 2023 Draft class.
