In a strange move this afternoon, the Tennessee Smokies hinted that an announcement was coming regarding one Pete Crow-Armstrong.

Many of us behind the scenes thought it was an odd tweet. It is not standard operating procedure to hint that a player was being promoted. And it was different.

Instead, Crow-Armstrong, who recently made MLB Pipeline’s top 10 in their top 100 prospects, will be in the game for the second year in a row. He is currently hitting .280 with 9 HRs and 45 RBI with a 130 wRC+.

As for Murray, the 2021 Draft Pick from Florida Atlantic was the Cubs hitter of the month in May here at NSB. For the year, he’s hitting .258 with 7 HRs and 36 RBI to go along with a wRC+ of 126.

They are two deserving candidates and will be fun to watch!

So much for Tennessee waiting until tomorrow to announce!
