Tonight was one of those rare nights where all four affiliates lost their games. In some ways, the defeats came down to the last out. Another was a blowout from the word go. And the others were just plain painful.

As a result, there are no awards for tonight, only a brief recapitulation of the devastation.

Iowa lost 8-4 to Toledo. Luis Vazquez had a two-run HR tonight, his 8th in the second half.

Tennessee lost 4-3 to Biloxi. Matt Shaw was a bright spot going 2-for-4 while Andy Weber hit a 2-run jack. Manny Espinoza was back in action for Tennessee and came out of the bullpen to do so.

South Bend went down 6-2 against Fort Wayne and was officially eliminated from playoff contention. Luis Verdugo and Moises Ballesteros both had two hits while Nick Hull is getting better in relief as he threw three scoreless with 4 Ks..

Myrtle Beach was defeated by first place Charleston 9-7. It was a valiant effort as the Pelicans were down 9-2 at one point but made a game of it. The Pelicans only had 7 hits, but they walked 8 times.
