Let’s just say that most of today was a brutal day for the bullpens in Iowa, Tennessee, Myrtle Beach, and South Bend as the opponents put up some crooked numbers in a hurry. So, this post is going to be short…just for that reason.
Starting Pitcher of the Day
Jordan Wicks went five innings for the Smokies. He did not allow a hit on the day but he did give up an unearned run. He struck out 5 and lowered his season ERA to 2,39. Will Iowa be in his future? Most certainly! But when? It could happen on Tuesday, it could happen next Tuesday. I am not quite sure, but he is close.
Hitter of the Day Part 1
Yup. Owen Caissie went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI all coming on this oppo taco.
Good Sign of the Day 1
Parker Chavers is back and healthy. He went 2-for-3 with 2 walks on the day with a RBI and his average has climbed above .260.
Good Sign of the Day 2
Miguel Fabrizio is back hitting like it is 2021 in Arizona where he was an All-Star. He struggled mightily last year. Now that he is healthy, he is tearing it up. Today, he went 2-for-4 with 3 RBI.
Good Sign of the Day 3
Miguel Pabon also continues to hit. He has become Mr. Consistency as he went 2-for-4 as well.
Good Sign of the Day 4
Felix Stevens – Stud! Dinger and a 3-for-3 day.
Debut of the Day
Luke Little gave up one run in 2 innings today. But why he gets the debut of the day is that he struck out 6 in vicious fashion.
Scores
Iowa lost 5-9.
Tennessee lost 4-5.
South Bend lost 1-6.
Myrtle Beach lost 6-8.
Thanks Todd! Any news on why Chavers was out? Thankful he’s back though! Saw McGeary got pinch hit for towards the end of today’s game?
