I started podcasting back in June of 2019. A couple months prior to starting my regularly scheduled programming on the Growing Cubs Podcast, I reached out to one of my best friends from high school, Jimmy Nelligan, to ask if he wanted to be my co-host on a podcast focused around Cubs minor leaguers. I hadn’t spoken to him in a few years before that day and I was shocked when he said he was game.

After 120 episodes over the course of three baseball seasons and a lost COVID year, Jimmy and I built a rapport and had the time of our lives hosting that show. But when it was time to tackle new things in life, I sat around debating what my next move would be.

Podcasting about Cubs prospects, as incredibly niche as it might be, is something that has turned into a passion of mine and something that brought me so much joy. So for that reason… I’m back baby!

Cubs On Deck is a brand new podcast, covering the prospects of the Cubs farm system, hosted by yours truly. I’ll be joined by Bryan Smith of Bleacher Nation for the majority of episodes that will air once a week during the season and once every other week during the winter months. The remaining episodes will be with Greg Zumach of NSB and the broadcasters from Myrtle Beach, South Bend, and Iowa holding down the co-host chair.

The very first episode of Cubs On Deck will be published this Friday morning as Bryan and I break down the Cubs’ impending decisions regarding the Rule Five Draft through prospects being added to the 40-man roster.

While you wait, be sure to subscribe to Cubs On Deck wherever you listen to your podcasts!

I hope to do you all proud and look forward to interacting with everyone as the show moves forward over the years!
