Earlier today in “The Breakdown,” we gave Riley Martin and Nelson Velazquez the Reliever of the Week and Hitter of the Week honors respectively.
So, this afternoon it came as no surprise that each player was given an award by MiLB.
Velazquez was named the Player of the Week in the Southern League.
Martin was named the Pitcher of the Week in the Carolina League.
It is very cool that both players were recognized for performing at such a high level!
Congratulations go out from all of us at North Side Bound to both players!
