PJ Higgins- Picture by Todd Johnson

While the MLB squad is currently shut down from signing free agents, the Cubs MiLB system continues to go on. Today, the Cubs signed PJ Higggins and Jonathan Holder to minor league deals for 2022. It was not a surprise move.

For Higgins, this move gives him a place to finish his rehab from TJS. It is unclear when his rehab will be complete. HIggins made the Cubs 2021 opening day roster but required surgery late in the spring.

As for Holder, he also was injured most of last year and only appeared in two games.

Hopefully, these moves give them both one more chance.
